Wombat collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your documents are yours: they stay on your computer, in the files you save.

The editor on this website

The editor runs in your browser. What you write is kept in your browser while you work (its local storage, so that a tab you close by mistake can be recovered), and in the files you save; it is never kept on the server.

To set your document as a PDF (the Preview and Export), the editor sends it, with its pictures, to the Typst compiler on this server. The server makes the PDF in a temporary folder of its own, sends it back, and deletes the folder. Nothing of the document is kept or read for any other purpose.

As any web server, ours writes a log of the requests it answers (the address, the time and the page), kept for a short time to keep the site working and safe. The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles the traffic on our behalf.

The apps

The Mac app sets the PDF on your own computer: your documents do not leave it. The only things it fetches from the internet are packages of Typst Universe (packages.typst.org) that a document asks for and the app does not already bring with it, and nothing of your document is sent to get them.

On a Mac, the app lets Spotlight and Quick Look show your documents, on your Mac only. Report a Problem opens an email in your own mail app, which you can read before you send it.
